"The hotel is easily reached from the motorway, and has a practical parking garage. The room I got was nice and clean, with good bedding. The whole hotel was clean.
But … the hotel is in need f a renovation, and even some basic maintenance. The swanky entrance hall stops after check in. The style of the elevators (one of the 3 seemed to be out of order when I stayed there) shoot you back to the style when this hotel was build, some 45 years ago I suppose.
The hotel needs a new electrician I think: several light points were not functioning, going from the stylish light sin the breakfast rooms, to some corridor lights, one in the bathroom of our hotel room, and then, most strikingly, at the level of the swimming pool, spa and sauna. While this swimming area was nice and clean, it had a gloomy feel because of the lack of functioning light bulbs. I counted at least 30 broken ones in that area, around half of the light points initially available I guess.
The check inn procedure was not as fluent as it could have been : the friendly staff member was interrupted multiple times by his colleague who was doing not client related work that probably could have waited 5 minutes. This was a problem for the concentration of the check inn host, who forgot for a minute I was an English speaking guest, but luckily he switched back rapidly. He also had to redo some registration steps on his screen. While he did think of the parking ticket, he needed a reminder from me for the drink vouchers and the fast internet password. Again, the problem was not him but his nterrupting colleague I think.
We were served rapidly at the bar and the ordered cocktail was perfect. The breakfast buffet was nice too, but they ran out of boiled eggs, requiring a small wait. While the staff was correct in the breakfast area, several staff members did discuss between them instead of keeping an eye on the guests and the buffet.
We encountered the cleaning staff in the hallways upstairs. They were a bit silent let’s say, but their work was perfect because everything was nice and clean.
The train station next door could scare you (noise, …) but their trains are of the silent type and the windows are well isolated.
When arriving in the car park in the evening, we encountered a rather large rat. Luckily it was nowhere to be seen when we left the parking the next morning.
Our check out procedure was fluent, and we appreciated a gesture towards the bill because of the problems cited above.
In conclusion, this hotel offers a good nights sleep, but let’s hope they find a new maintenance manager."
